Leadership Power Labs

Levels I and II

I    TEAM PSYCHOLOGY and GROUP LEADERSHIP POWER LABS

A group meets with a Consultant who leads the group for ten minutes. The Leadership is transferred to a Group Member for ten minutes. The Consultant resumes another ten minute block then passes leadership to another Group Member. This goes on till all have led the Group. (Assessment and Feedback follows)

II    DOUBLE-RING LEADERSHIP POWER LABS

A Double Ring is set up with Outer Ring silent and observing until Feedback time. First the Inner Ring operates a revolving system of leadership starting with the Consultant and then group members alternatively leading the group. Each Outer Ring member later gives feedback on his/her Inner double and on the style of leadership. The Double Ring structure makes for high pressure leadership training and sharpening for the Inner Group and high powered consulting and observer roles for the Outer Ring members.

This Double Ring Power Lab is designed for fostering razor-sharp Leadership skills and to obtain rapid insights into Group Dynamics.  Although high-pressured, the skills taught are easily mastered and trigger rapid reaction, perception and coolness under fire. On completion, members will return to their teams with increased confidence, armed with an intuition for reading the Visible and Invisible forces of Power Dynamics which shape success or failure in individuals, teams, groups and corporations. Structure: A Double Ring Structure involves an Inner Ring and an Outer Ring, each with a leader. Part I is split into two sections - theoretical and practical approaches. Mechanism: The Inner Ring functions for 60-minutes under 10-minute revolving Leadership slots with two 10-minute slots by the Professional Leader and four 10-minute slots by different group members so as to maximise leadership experience under pressure. Feedback: After 60 minutes of Inner Ring Action, each member of the Outer Ring acts as external Consultant, giving feedback on:

  1. The Inner Ring’s Power Dynamics
  2. Style, conduct and effectiveness of Inner Ring Leadership
  3. The effectiveness and conduct of an Inner Ring member
